The South West Workers Accommodation project was designed to respond to increasing demand for flexible, short- to medium-term housing solutions supporting regional workforces. Conceived as a purpose-built accommodation village, the project provides a structured alternative to traditional housing models while reducing pressure on permanent residential supply.

The design incorporates a mix of accommodation typologies supported by shared amenities and on-site operational facilities. Site planning prioritises efficiency, safety, and ease of management, with clear separation between living zones, communal spaces, and service infrastructure. Centralised facilities support day-to-day operations while encouraging social interaction within a managed environment.

Sustainability and long-term operational performance were key drivers throughout the design process. Modular construction principles, passive design strategies, stormwater management, and renewable energy integration were incorporated to reduce environmental impact and support repeatability across future sites. The project demonstrates Cogplex’s capability to design scalable workforce accommodation solutions aligned with regional growth and industry needs.
